YAAAS! is the youth program of the CROSSING EUROPE Film Festival in Linz that takes place every year in the end of April in Linz (AT). To call out YAAAS! means to euphorically say “yes!” - “yes!” to a program that does not only aim to present finished content, but rather to produce VIDEOS in internationally mixed teams that are then presented and discussed within a FILM PROGRAM that is selected by people of the same age, to try out new techniques in a WORKSHOP RALLY or find out about them in FACE TO FACE talks with professionals in small groups.

With the YAAAS! Youth program, CROSSING EUROPE intends to create a holistic offer for film education, the acquisition of media competence and DIY-video-production skills. YAAAS! is aimed at people between the ages 15 and 20, who thereby get the chance to engage with (international) media professionals, learn new skills in the area of film, watch and discuss films, as well as present their own work in the framework of a professional film festival.
YAAAS! invites you to take a whiff of the festival air together with other youths.

Apply to the YAAAS! Videoproject!

The heart of the youth program is the format that offers the possibility to create your very own contributions to a specific predetermined topic in groups of six to eight youths.
What is particularly important to us is that groups are all mixed: according to age and gender, but also in respect to the previous experience with the medium video. The age range of the participants is between 15 and 20. The topic will combine two aspects: on the one hand, the motto of the festival that aims to connect Europe and break down boundaries, but also a topic that has a special significance for young people.

Those who want to participate have to send in a video that is not older than two years (as an individual, a group, or a school project).

Our jury will select participants based on the applications and get in touch with you. For minor participants and for school projects a guardian is also invited to come.
